Camp in an Otentik – If the word “otentik” is unfamiliar, trust us that it’s a truly unique camping experience for those families that enjoy such exploring the outdoors. It’s a cross between a tent and a cabin and is available all summer long at Banff and Lake Louise National Parks in Alberta.

Fort Calgary – Just east of downtown is historic Fort Calgary, a 40-acre site that tells the story of the Mounted Police and how the city of Calgary got started. You and your kids even can try on an RCMP uniform while you’re there! Just a walking around the ground is enjoyable, and it’s incredibly easy to find.

Heritage Park – There are so many great things to do at Heritage Park, which offers museums, an authentic historic village, and one of the best bakeries in the province.
